Moscow — Geneva by private jet: about 2,390 km, estimated time in the air roughly 3 hours 19 minutes. Departure from Vnukovo (about 30 km southwest of the city centre, where Moscow’s main business-aviation terminal is), Ostafyevo (a small dedicated business-aviation field about 30 km south) or Sheremetyevo (about 30 km northwest), arrival at Geneva, on the Swiss–French border at the western end of Lake Geneva and within a couple of hours’ drive of the Alpine ski resorts. Routing, permits and, if they are needed, intermediate stops are planned against a specific date and a specific aircraft. We send a quote within the hour and answer around the clock.
About this route
First an honest warning, so that you do not build plans around a promise we have not made. On this route we publish no schedules and promise no flight in advance — neither a routing nor a timescale for permits. Both are assembled for a particular date, a particular aircraft and a particular passenger list. Send us your dates, we will look at what comes together and answer plainly. If the route does not work on your dates, you will hear it immediately, not after a deposit has been paid. That answer happens too, and giving it in time is more honest than dragging it out.
Geneva itself is a city of short, very specific trips. People come for negotiations, for doctors and clinics, to visit children at school and on property matters; and from here it is a short drive up to the mountain resorts, so part of the traffic is one working day plus two free ones. Baggage is usually light, except in the winter months when ski equipment joins the suitcases.
The hour of departure matters more here than it seems. Moscow is one to two hours ahead of Geneva depending on the season, so a morning departure gives you almost a full working day on the ground while an evening one leaves you with dinner. On one- and two-day trips that difference often decides the date.
The 2,390 km quoted is the great-circle distance and the 3 h 19 min is an estimate at cruise speed. The actual duration depends on the routing that gets approved and on whether an intermediate stop is planned; we give the final figure together with the quote, not in advertising.
- Distance: about 2,390 km great-circle
- Time in the air: about 3 h 19 min, estimated
- Departure: Vnukovo (~30 km southwest of the centre), Ostafyevo (~30 km south), Sheremetyevo (~30 km northwest)
- Arrival: Geneva
- Aircraft class: midsize and super-midsize
Which aircraft suit this route
Three hours and change is the range at which the difference between classes is already felt: in a midsize cabin you get through it perfectly well, in a super-midsize you can work at a table and talk without raising your voice.
- Cessna Citation XLS — a midsize jet for two to four on a one-day business trip
- Embraer Legacy 500 — a stand-up cabin and a quiet flight, useful if you need to work on the way
- Bombardier Challenger 350 — super-midsize with a large hold, for six travelling with luggage
- Dassault Falcon 2000 — a roomy cabin and a range margin should the routing change
The list in the quote may differ from the list above: on this route the choice also depends on which routing turns out to be approvable for your dates. If that happens, we will explain why.
Other types are in the aircraft catalogue.
What drives the price
First, the aircraft: class, fuel burn and where it is on your date. One already standing in Europe and one that has to be positioned out of Moscow give different figures, and such coincidences cannot be predicted in advance.
Second, the final routing. It can turn out longer than the straight line on the map, and that shows in the quote. Third, the ground side: handling, parking and slots; in the mountain season they go earlier than usual.
Fourth, whether the aircraft stays or leaves empty. For a week or more it is usually better to release it and order the return separately; for two or three days we cost both and show the difference.
We publish no starting figure for this route: on destinations where the routing is assembled against a date, any published number would mislead. Send your dates and passenger numbers — a quote with named aircraft will come back within the hour.
The return leg
The flight the other way is on its own page, Geneva — Moscow: a different departure airport, a different convenient hour and its own preparation. It is better to send both dates at once — a round trip is planned as one job.
How to book
Send the route, your preferred dates and the number of passengers. Give the passengers’ citizenship — the set of documents depends on it and is confirmed when we quote. If you have any flexibility on dates, say so: here a day either way sometimes changes the picture entirely.
We answer within the hour, around the clock and at weekends. If the route does not come together on your dates, you will hear it in the very first message.
