How yacht chartering works

How do you work?
We are yacht brokers: we select a yacht to fit your requirements, your budget and your route. We work with owners and yacht managers we know and trust, worldwide.
What does a broker go by when searching?
The charter dates, the number of guests, the preferred route, the budget, the type of yacht — motor or sailing — and your requirements for equipment on board.
What is included in the charter price?
The base price covers the yacht and her crew. Fuel, food and drink, berthing in marinas and the APA are charged in addition.
What is the APA?
APA stands for Advance Provisioning Allowance: an advance payment, usually 25–35% of the charter price, which covers fuel, provisioning and berthing. Whatever is not spent is returned to you.
How are the obligations of the parties set out?
Through the standard MYBA contract (Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association), which protects the interests of both sides.
Why can the same yacht be offered at different prices?
The price depends on the season, the region and the length of the charter. High season — July and August — is considerably more expensive.
Is a gratuity expected at the end of a charter?
It is common practice. A tip is usually 5–15% of the charter price, depending on the level of service.
