About this route
People fly to Abu Dhabi for two reasons at once, and you can see it in the enquiries. The first is business: the Emirates’ capital runs at a calmer pace than its neighbours, negotiations here are set for a whole day, and the trip comes out unhurried. The second is family: in winter people come with children for a week or more, for the sea, the parks and the events on Yas Island. Often both reasons fit into a single trip, and then the cabin needs both a table and somewhere a child can sleep through half the journey.
Five hours is the range at which aircraft class stops being a matter of taste. It decides not how luxurious the trip is but what state you are in when you step off: straight to a meeting, or via the hotel to catch up on sleep. On a super-midsize you get through those five hours perfectly well; on a heavy jet you barely notice them, and the difference shows on your first evening there.
One more thing that matters for family trips: the time difference from Moscow is only one hour. Children’s routines barely shift, the first day is not lost to acclimatisation, and the return leg is just as easy. Against the long Asian destinations that is a real advantage, and it is exactly why people come here for four or five days rather than a fortnight.

Which aircraft suit this route
The choice follows two things: how many people are flying and how much is travelling with them. For five hours in the air we start with the super-midsize class and move up if the family is large or there is a lot of baggage:
- Bombardier Challenger 350 — super-midsize with a large hold, a sensible choice for four to six
- Dassault Falcon 2000 — a roomy cabin and a confident range margin
- Bombardier Challenger 605 — heavy class: you can stand up straight and get some rest on the way
- Gulfstream G450 — long-range with a rest area — an option for a night flight

What drives the price
The heaviest factor is where the aircraft comes from. A free aircraft already working in the Gulf region and one that has to be positioned out of Moscow are two fundamentally different calculations for the very same route. Matches like that happen regularly, but you cannot predict them: they are only visible on a specific day, and that is why there is no «prices from» on this site at all.
Second in weight is what the aircraft does while you are there. On a three- or four-day trip it is often kept on the ground; for a week or more it is almost always more sensible to release it and order the return as a separate flight. We cost both arrangements and send them side by side — the choice is yours, not ours.
Third is baggage, and on a family trip that is no formality. Going out there are usually a moderate number of cases, coming back noticeably more, and the difference is better allowed for at the selection stage. A pushchair, boards, golf clubs, child seats — all of it is worth listing in the enquiry: the margin in hold volume decides whether everything goes at once or part of it has to travel separately.
And about the season. In winter, from November to March, dates go early — not because a rush surcharge appears, but because the list of available aircraft gets shorter. An enquiry two weeks out and an enquiry a day out in December give quite different options, and the first is almost always the better one.
The return leg
The way home is described separately — Abu Dhabi — Moscow. It has its own convenient departure times and its own conversation about baggage, of which there is usually more on the way back. If both dates are already clear, send them together: the gap between the legs directly determines which arrangement works out better.
